About Martinez Béisbol Films

Max Martinez Almenas, Executive Producer and Director of Martinez Béisbol Films, studied filmmaking at the New York Film Academy, and worked in Broadcasting with NBC Universal, Mun2 (Telemundo). He is a proud member of the Negro League Family Alliance and the Society for American Baseball Research. Max's maternal grandfather and three uncles are the subject of the documentary.

The U. S. team consists of Danae and Ari from Black Pug Films, Enrico Bolognino from EB Media, and Damon Young from DTV.

The Dominican Republic (D.R.) team features Jhordian Martinez, one of Horacio Martinez's grandsons from Luxmatic Frames, and his father, Horacio F. Thormann Jr.

Another team member based in D.R. is Rafael Baldayac, a broadcaster and member of the press staff for the iconic Águilas Cibaeñas team in the Dominican Winter Baseball League. He is also the author of several sports literature works, including “Tragedia de Río Verde”, “De la Fama a la Tragedia”, and “Águilas Cibaeñas Sus Grandes Triunfos”.

Together they are dedicated to producing a compelling documentary that showcases the remarkable lives of the Martinez Brothers. Through their story, the filmmaking team aims to shed light on the challenges faced by professional Afro-Latino and Negro baseball players, and honor their legacy.
